We love introducing our readers to book bloggers. The book bloggers we come across are unique and that’s why we want our readers to know about them. Janiera from This Is From My Heart is so passionate about books she chose to pursue writing and actually self-published her own book “Having Fun While Saving Money” in 2011. Learn about Janiera and her book blog in the following interview.

Tell us about yourself and why you started blogging about books?

Writing is my first love and reading is a super close second. I’m currently a video/entertainment blogger for Directorslive.com and I’m loving it! I’m looking for an agent to promote my first Urban Fantasy novel “Soul Sisters and I really dream of being published one day.

I started blogging because I love to read but I don’t know a lot of people who do. The book blogging community is so warm and it so great to talk about books with people who love them as much as I do.

What was the first YA novel you picked up that got you hooked to the YA genre?

Twilight will always have a special place in my heart. I’m not ashamed to tell people I’m a fan of it either. Not only did it get me to read the YA genre it renewed my interest in reading again and made me fall in love with books.

What makes your blog unique?

I really love doing fun and interactive interviews with authors. I try to give my readers a little peak into the life of the author and build a connection between the author and the reader. I also try to make my reviews fun and more like conversations instead of stuffy and analytical.

Which book blog/blogger inspires you?

Giselle at XpressoReads.com and Heather at Supagurlbooks.com. They put so much hard work into their blogs and they keep things fun. I love blogs that feel like fun conversations and don’t get too analytic about reading. These blogs are a lot of fun and they interact with their readers. Their pretty awesome!

What’s your favorite / least favorite things about book blogging?

My favorite thing about book blogging is interacting with my readers and chatting with them about books. I love to get recommendations from my readers as well. My least favorite thing about blogging is some readers get nasty when they disagree with your reviews. I’ve never had this happen to me but it is something I don’t like about the book blogging world.

If you could go back to when you started blogging what would you do different? What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started blogging about books?

I wish I would have known that it takes a lot of time to run a book blog but really, I wouldn’t change anything.

What one advice would you give people out there who are thinking about starting their own book blog?

Blog for the love of books, never blog to get free books! If that is your reason for book blogging people can tell and you will get burned out really early. Book blogging is so rewarding when you care about books and writing book reviews.

What books do you think must be on every young adults bookshelves?

Harry Potter, it really is an incredible example of an author creating a completely original and truly magical world.

What are your goals for your blog in the future?

My goal is to continue to bring readers and authors together and watch the magic happen! I also want my blog in the future to be a place where people can have fun reading about the amazing world of books.

Fun questions:

Favorite new release?

This is going to sound terrible but I haven’t read a new release in a really long time. I usually read books way before their published or way after.

Ethan from Beautiful Creatures.

Favorite female heroin?

Nora From Dearly Departed.

Favorite Genre?

Urban Fantasy.

Favorite place to read?

In my Bedroom.

That’s a hard one but I love a Hardcopy any day over an ecopy.

Vampires.

Female.

This Is From My Heart’s Blog | Twitter | Facebook

I started This Is From My Heart because of my love for books and my passion for writing. In 2011 I developed Fibromyalgia and writing was so therapeutic that I ended up finishing two books! I self-published “Having Fun While Saving Money”  in 2011. This book was made to help women have fun with their families and friends without spending a lot of money.

Supporting authors and their books is a passion of mines and a goal of my blog. Another goal of my blog is to share my writing and reading experiences with other wonderful book addicts.
